YARDMAX Log Splitters: Current Electric, Full-Beam and Half-Beam Models
The current YARDMAX lineup is easiest to understand as three families: compact corded electric, full-beam gas and half-beam gas. The useful differences are frame/workflow, vertical handling, towing and accessory support—not just the tonnage number printed on the beam.
YARDMAX's current lineup splits into three distinct families
Our normalized catalog contains 9 current YARDMAX exact records: three corded-electric compact models, three 32/35/40-ton full-beam gas models and three 32/36/40-ton half-beam gas models.
Current YARDMAX electric models
The current normalized electric branch covers 5, 6.5 and 9 tons, all 120 V / 15 A and horizontal-only. The YS0552 record includes a log table; the current YS0650 page has a 6-versus-6.5-ton discrepancy, so that model is not used in automated Matcher scoring.
| Exact model | Force | Cycle | Max log | Position | Weight | Road tow | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YARDMAX YS0552 | 5 ton | 16 sec | 20.5 in | Horizontal | 108 lb | Not published | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YS0650 | 6.5 ton | 19 sec | 20.5 in | Horizontal | 104.7 lb | Not published | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YS0952 | 9 ton | Not published / not verified | 20.5 in | Horizontal | 165 lb | Not published | Manufacturer source |
Current full-beam gas family
YU3266, YU3666 and YU4066 publish horizontal/vertical operation and 45 mph road towing. The normalized records also support optional log-table availability and hydraulic-log-lift availability, making the full-beam family especially relevant when heavy-round handling is more important than compactness.
| Exact model | Force | Cycle | Max log | Position | Weight | Road tow | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YARDMAX YU3266 | 32 ton | 15.3 sec | 26 in | Horizontal / Vertical | 524.7 lb | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YU3666 | 35 ton | 16.5 sec | 26 in | Horizontal / Vertical | 542.3 lb | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YU4066 | 40 ton | 15.2 sec | 26.5 in | Horizontal / Vertical | 605.2 lb | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
Current half-beam gas family
YS3265, YS3665 and YS4065 retain horizontal/vertical operation and published 45 mph road towing. They occupy similar force classes to the full-beam line but are a distinct frame family. Optional log-table availability is supported in the current normalized data; hydraulic-log-lift availability is not stored for the half-beam records.
| Exact model | Force | Cycle | Max log | Position | Weight | Road tow | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YARDMAX YS3265 | 32 ton | 15.4 sec | 26 in | Horizontal / Vertical | Not published / not verified | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YS3665 | 36 ton | 16.2 sec | 26 in | Horizontal / Vertical | Not published / not verified | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
| YARDMAX YS4065 | 40 ton | 15.2 sec | 26 in | Horizontal / Vertical | Not published / not verified | Yes · 45 mph max | Manufacturer source |
Be careful with older YARDMAX model numbers
Older 25/28/30/35-ton YU/YS gas models can still appear in YARDMAX's shop/navigation history, but the exact current pages found during normalization identify those older models as discontinued. The production catalog therefore uses the newer 32/35/40 full-beam and 32/36/40 half-beam families instead of padding the brand page with legacy machines.
YARDMAX support and accessories matter to the brand decision
The current brand record includes a manuals center, splitter-accessory category and direct contact support. That is particularly relevant here because tables and hydraulic-log-lift availability can change the workflow on the full-size models.

Current 35- and 40-ton class pages
For cross-brand force-class comparison, use 35 Ton for YU3666 against Oregon, and 40 Ton for YU4066 full-beam versus YS4065 half-beam. The Log Lift page owns the accessory-specific question.
Full beam or half beam?
Do not use the label alone as a quality ranking. Compare the exact dimensions, weight, accessory path and how rounds arrive at the work area. For repeated heavy-round handling, the full-beam models' documented hydraulic-log-lift availability can be a meaningful differentiator. For the broader ergonomic tradeoff, use Horizontal vs Vertical.
Frequently asked questions
What are the current YARDMAX gas splitter sizes in this catalog?
The current normalized gas families are 32, 35 and 40 tons for full-beam models and 32, 36 and 40 tons for half-beam models.
Why are older YARDMAX 25/28/30/35-ton models not listed?
Their exact current pages were identified as discontinued during normalization, so they were not promoted into the production catalog.
Which YARDMAX models can use a hydraulic log lift?
The current normalized YU3266, YU3666 and YU4066 full-beam records support hydraulic-log-lift availability.
Why is YARDMAX YS0650 excluded from Matcher scoring?
The current manufacturer page has a force-label discrepancy between page/title content and the specification table, so automated matching does not treat the force value as fully settled.
